Snoop Dogg explains how Mike Tomlin’s staff changes will help the Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers, led by head coach Mike Tomlin, are currently in the middle of what looks to be a crucial offseason for the team’s future. The Steelers were swiftly eliminated from the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills in the Wild Card round two weeks ago, leaving the team with more questions than answers as they head into the offseason, despite Tomlin’s amazing run of winning seasons continuing.
Snoop Dogg, a well-known rapper and Steelers fan, appears to have a lot of answers. He recently appeared on ESPN’s The Pat McAfee Show and shared some of his knowledge with Mike Tomlin.
“The Steelers need more dawgs and some new blood on the coaching staff. Right now, it’s too simplistic. According to Pat McAfee on X, the social media site that was formerly known as Twitter, Snoop Dogg stated, “We play basic football just to basically make it to the playoffs to lose.”
It is true that the Steelers seem to need a shakeup—not necessarily at head coach, where Tomlin is still among the most accomplished in the league, but pretty much everywhere else, as Pittsburgh currently looks set to continue its current cycle of mediocrity.
Of course, a big portion of Pittsburgh’s problems over the past few seasons can be attributed to quarterback play, so it will be interesting to watch Tomlin and the Steelers brass decide what to do about that position this offseason.

Mason Rudolph, the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, had no idea if he would have a job during the next regular season going into the 2023 offseason.
He was even thinking about switching careers.
In 2024, Rudolph faces no such issue.
The only thing left to decide is who he will play for next offseason.
When his contract expires, he may choose to explore free agency, or he and the Steelers may attempt to negotiate a return.
The Steelers appear to have told the quarterback that they want him to remain in Pittsburgh, though it’s unclear what they intend to do at quarterback during the offseason.
Rudolph revealed to Ramon Foster during an appearance on “The Pickens’ Foster Show” that Omar Khan and Mike Tomlin had expressed their desire for him to return for the upcoming season.

Rudolph said to his former teammate, “I visited with Mike T and Omar both, and… it was so early, like three or four days after we played our last game, and there’s a lot neither side knows.” “When they expressed their desire for me to return, I got the impression that they meant it and that they wanted to work with me going forward. I’m glad to hear that. However, as you pointed out, there are a lot of unknowns, and January is still early, so who knows what will transpire?
Rudolph put up a compelling case.
Rudolph made sure he would be on a roster somewhere the following season during the final three games of the 2023 regular season.
In Week 16, Rudolph threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns against the Bengals. He threw for 274 yards against the Seahawks the following week.
Then, to end the regular season against the Ravens in terrible weather, he completed 90% of his passes.
In each of those contests, he led the team to victory before his string of strong outings ended in a playoff defeat to the Bills.
The best justification for Rudolph’s return is the work he did during his starts for George Pickens.
Rudolph started both of Pickens’ best games of the season at quarterback. The second-year receiver caught 11 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns in weeks 16 and 17.
It wouldn’t be a bad thing to have a quarterback on the team who was able to develop one of your brightest young stars.
Rudolph’s work during his starts for George Pickens is the strongest argument in favor of his return.
Pickens’ two best games of the season were both started by Rudolph at quarterback. In weeks sixteen and seventeen, the second-year receiver caught 11 passes for 326 yards and two touchdowns.
Having a quarterback on the team who was able to develop one of your best young players wouldn’t be a bad thing.
