Swans linked to Stoke City defender

Stoke defender Josh Tymon is being linked with a move away from the Potteries this morning as speculation increases on the twenty four year olds future at the Bet365 stadium. As the transfer window gets closer to closing and the Swans busy themselves in the recruitment department don’t expect this to be the last link today.

Tymon’s contract is up in two years so he will command a fee, however he has fallen out of favour to an extent at Stoke this season. He did feature in the 1-0 win against Watford last time out from the bench. The left back would fill a role that Swans head coach Michael Duff has continued to mention as an issue for the club this season.

Yesterday the Swans head coach mentioned again his priority is left sided players. Speaking on incoming transfers Duff said, “It needs to be imminent as we only have a week left, we’ve been trying, we’ve been pushing” The real issue is Leeds United are also linked to Tymon as they too look to plug problem gaps in their own defence. The Swans must also consider Tymon’s injury record, he was out for twenty one games over several periods last season with what was described as persistent ankle injuries.

What do we know ?
The Swans are constantly making contact with clubs regards player availability, Duff reminds us regularly of the work going on behind the scenes, and we would expect that. From what we know no official approach has been made for Tymon, and the interest from Leeds could well put the Swans off financially. The arrival of Enda Stevens in the Potteries has reduced Tymon to the bench this season. Having racked up just over a hundred games in the championship Tymon has nine assists and two goals to his name.

As we said at the start of this report, expect more news as the day progresses, and of course our regular match day build up.
