Board confidant close to David Sullivan delivers tragic West Ham transfer update with new season less than three weeks away
A board confidant close to David Sullivan has delivered a tragic West Ham transfer update with the new season less than three weeks away.
Last night Hammers News reported that Fulham are about to leave West Ham in a league of their own when it comes to the summer transfer window.
Quite literally.
Because the Cottagers are on the brink of a impressive double signing having also “officially” brought back Willian to kickstart their transfer activity.
And that will leave West Ham as the only club in the Premier League yet to make a signing for their first team this summer.
Hammers being left in a league of their own in transfer window
Unless the Hammers can get the reportedly imminent deal for Man City starlet Carlos Borges over the line first.
If there was an analogy for West Ham’s transfer window thus far, it would be ‘all talk no action’.
Because despite being linked with a plethora of players in all manner of positions – and with the new season now just over three weeks away – West Ham are yet to make a single signing for their first team.
With a huge Declan Rice shaped hole to fill that is seriously concerning for West Ham fans.

Especially considering the team spent much of last season flirting with relegation WITH Rice in the side.
Given the club knew for the best part of two years that Rice was being sold this summer, supporters expected replacements to be lined up long before now.
But there’s seriously bad news on that front.
A board confidant close to David Sullivan has delivered a tragic West Ham transfer update with the new season less than three weeks away.
‘No other players close to joining, very hard work and fees are crazy’
Because while unproven but exciting Borges is close to joining, West Ham have no other players anywhere close to joining the club.
“The bad news is that he (Borges) is the only player anywhere close to becoming a new Hammer,” Hugh Southon revealed in an exclusive report on Claret and Hugh.
“With just three weeks left to until we travel to Bournemouth for the start of the season, unless David Moyes makes rapid progress in the window we could go into the campaign short of squad numbers…”
Southon then quotes his key source inside West Ham, who paints a grim picture of the club’s transfer prospects.
The source said: “Only the boy from Man City (is close), otherwise it is very hard work and the fees crazy. We offered £50m for the Fulham player (Joao) Palhinha which was rejected and we won’t be going any higher.”
Both Sullivan and David Moyes have both said publicly they want to sign two players to replace hybrid talent Rice.
West Ham also need a new left-back, centre-back and forward with Aaron Cresswell, Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca all being tipped to leave.
