£14M PLAYER HAS REJECTED BORUSSIA DORTMUND TO SIGN FOR WEST HAM UNITED
West Ham United are closing in on Carlos Borges amid claims the Manchester City winger has rejected Borussia Dortmund.
Carlos Borges has reportedly picked a move to West Ham United over joining Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt.
That is according to the London Evening Standard, who claim that Borges is on the verge of signing for West Ham.
It’s suggested that Borges is now expected to choose the Hammers over three other clubs pushing for his signature.
Brighton and Hove Albion as well as Bundesliga duo Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to sign Borges.
However, the winger is ready to pick West Ham instead in what will feel like a major coup for David Moyes.
Borges will cost around £14million with West Ham believed to be in ‘advanced talks’ to finalise the deal.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that West Ham were on the verge of signing Borges and it now appears that a number of clubs are being snubbed in the process.
Carlos Borges an exciting addition for West Ham United
Borges has yet to make a senior appearance for Manchester City but it’s hard not to be excited about this one.
The 19-year-old has been in the City ranks for a few years now having previously been with Sporting.
A rapid left-sided winger, Borges had a stunning campaign last season as he smashed 29 goals and 18 assists in 33 games.
First-team action at City may be tricky though, even with Riyad Mahrez on his way to Saudi Arabia.
Borges is ready to try his hand with West Ham and his pace, potential and eye for goal make him incredibly exciting.
There is still an element of risk here; Borges hasn’t played at anything close to Premier League level in his career.
West Ham fans will feel that Borges can make a big impact though and he can bring something very different to Moyes’ side.
