Ja Morant Reacts to Nike’s Announcement on Friday.

Ja Morant’s 2024-25 NBA season with the Memphis Grizzlies did not end as he had hoped. After missing significant time the previous year due to suspension and injury, Morant returned to play in 50 regular-season games. He averaged 20.9 points, 7.4 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game, contributing to the Grizzlies’ 48-34 record and securing the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

However, the postseason proved challenging; during Game 3 of the first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Morant suffered a hip injury while attempting a contested dunk over Luguentz Dort. This injury sidelined him for Game 4, and the Grizzlies were subsequently swept 4-0 by the Thunder, concluding their playoff run.

Despite the season’s disappointing end, Morant’s influence off the court has remained significant. Since being drafted second overall in 2019, he has emerged as one of the NBA’s most dynamic talents, known for his explosive athleticism and engaging personality. His marketability led to a partnership with Nike, resulting in the launch of his signature sneaker line.
