Demons’ usefulness Journalist Marc McGowan of The Age said on Tuesday night that Alex Neal-Bullen has allegedly asked to be traded out of Melbourne.
The 28-year-old, who has a contract that expires at the end of 2026, is rumored to want to move back to his native South Australia. His choice is not believed to be motivated by worries about the club’s future.
A highly respected member of the Demons’ brigade, Neal-Bullen signed a three-year contract early in the previous season and has seen his forward-midfield role rise while Christian Petracca has been out of the lineup.
McGowan stated that while Port Adelaide was more focused on holding onto draft capital, the Crows were aware of Neal-Bullen’s plan to return home and would let talks to take place in Melbourne.
Dan Houston, a Power flanker, is rumored to be keen in joining Melbourne. Could this mean a player trade that includes supplementary draft picks?
If Jack Macrae, the out-of-favour midfielder for the Western Bulldogs, leaves the Kennel this season, it’s practically a given that he’ll stay in Melbourne.
Although the 30-year-old has only played 16 senior games this season, which is now the lowest total since his rookie campaign, there is still no guarantee that he will announce his retirement from the Dogs.
“Macrae and Luke Beveridge are going to have an extremely candid conversation.
“Do you see me in your senior plans for next year?’ will be the query. And if the answer is something like “not sure,” he will consider his choices elsewhere.
“The problem is that he’s not really interested in moving out of Melbourne given his current family situation. He’s thirty years old, his contract expires in twenty-seven, and if he’s going to play next year in new colors, he wants to play at a Melbourne team.
“There doesn’t seem to be a natural fit when you think of Carlton, Collingwood, St. Kilda, Hawthorn, Richmond, North Melbourne, Melbourne.”
Clark mentioned the possibility of relocating to Geelong, perhaps with Bailey Smith, a current Bulldogs teammate, but he wasn’t sure if such a move would be feasible.
