Crystal Palace star makes startling statement that he wants to return to the club where he has unfinished business.

Odsonne Edouard of Crystal Palace has confessed that he is still hoping to return to Paris Saint-Germain.

Edouard joined Palace from Celtic in 2021, but despite years of speculation of a move south of the border, he has struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League. He scored six Premier League goals in his first season and five in his second. However, he is on track to have his finest Palace season yet, having scored four league goals in just seven games this season.

Edouard is under contract with Palace until the conclusion of the season, which means he will have to be addressed at some point in 2024.

Now, the 25-year-old has admitted that PSG, where he previously grew in the youth ranks and for the B team, is his ultimate destination.

“I’ve always had this connection with PSG,” Edouard revealed to Telefoot. “When I first started playing football, my dream was to play for PSG and score at Parc des Princes… “Why not someday?”

It has to be seen whether the interest is mutual, and it is unclear when Edouard may be considering such a move.

For the time being, he will have to concentrate on his fortunes at Palace, however another issue on his radar could be a call-up to the France national squad.

“It’s something big,” the former France under-21 star said of international duty. One of my ambitions is to play for the France A squad.”

Edouard has been Palace’s top scorer so far this season, but he would surely have to keep it up for an extended period of time to attract the attention of one of the world’s most competitive international squads.

PSG and France face stiff competition on the frontlines.

Didier Deschamps has chosen strikers such as Olivier Giroud, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, Marcus Thuram, and Randal Kolo Muani for the current international break.

Mbappe and Kolo Muani are two players Edouard would face if he were to get his wish of joining PSG right away.

For the time being, Edouard is better placed at Palace, where he can create more momentum as a regular starter if he maintains his present form. However, it’s clear why he’d want to make a point in Paris at some point.

It would also allow him to compete in the Champions League, which is normally out of reach for Palace.
