CELTIC RESPOND TO LEEDS UNITED’S £10M BID FOR MIDFIELDER

Daniel Farke’s Leeds United are reportedly trying to sign Matt O’Riley from Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to Sky Sports, Leeds United are interested in getting a deal done with Celtic for Matt O’Riley before the window closes on Friday evening.

Celtic respond to Leeds United bid for Matt O’Riley

The report has claimed that Leeds, who are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League, have made a bid of £10 million.

Celtic have responded to that offer.

Sky Sports have reported that Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have turned down the bid from Leeds for the 22-year-old midfielder.

The Hoops, who will play in the UEFA Champions League this season, have “reiterated to Leeds that they consider the midfielder not for sale”, according to the report.

We do not think that Celtic will sell Matt O’Riley to Leeds United.

It is too late in the window.

An offer of £10 million is a lot for a 22-year-old playing in the Scottish Premiership.

If Celtic are not willing to accept that now, then Leeds simply have to give up on signing the Danish youngster.

Of course, every player has his price, but we do not think that Leeds should pay something ridiculous like £15 million or £20 million for the Denmark Under-21 international at this stage of the window.

O’Riley has made three appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Celtic this season.

The midfielder has scored two goals and given one assist in those games.

The youngster made 32 starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for the Hoops last season.

O’Riley scored three goals and gave 12 assists in those matches.
