According to a Euro football expert West Ham had agreed to recruit a striker for £30 million if Lucas Paqueta left.
According to a Euro football specialist, West Ham had a deal agreed to sign a striker who went elsewhere for £30 million, Lucas Paqueta.
During the summer transfer window, West Ham were linked with a slew of strikers from across the world.
To name a few, Hammers targets are Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri, PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, Brazilian Yuri Alberto, and Feyenoord’s Mexican attacker Santiago Gimenez.
In the end, deadline day passed without the Hammers adding a striker to their four excellent window signings.
However, it appears that another target West Ham were widely associated with last month would have signed under different circumstances.

Andy Brassell is a journalist and broadcaster from England who specializes in European football and works as a pundit for Sky Sports, TNT, and talkSPORT.
And he claims West Ham had a deal in place for French attacker Elye Wahi until Paqueta’s move to Manchester City fell through due to betting charges.
When Wahi was at Monpellier, West Ham was extensively connected with a move for him, and the player wanted to join.
Most Hammers fans would have preferred to maintain Paqueta over buying a new striker, but will the club come to regret not doing both?
Paqueta stayed at West Ham, while Wahi was sold to Lens for £30 million.
Brassell made the assertion while reviewing transfer window business on Sky Sports News.
“West Ham would have signed the striker Elye Wahi,” Brassell added.
“The deal was ready to go, and he would have joined had Paqueta not been sold.”
As previously reported, a French journalist alleged tonight that West Ham attempted a last-ditch effort to acquire another striker but were unable to reach an agreement.
It remains to be seen whether West Ham will live to regret not signing a striker.
The team is preparing for another 50-game season on land and sea, with only Michail Antonio, Danny Ings, and rookie attacker Divin Mubama as legitimate striker alternatives.
Although Jarrd Bowen, Mohammed Kudus, and Jesse Lingard can all play up front or as a second striker if they are brought in.
