A Trade Between Broncos and Rams Helps Both Teams…

The Denver Broncos have many of their biggest off-season positions that need to be addressed in the early portion of free agency. Denver strengthened the tight end position, signed defensive backs, and bolstered linebacker depth-the rest of the positions the Broncos can address during the 2025 NFL Draft. One position they might be interested in addressing is running back. With Denver having the No. 20 pick, it will be hard to draft one of the most talented players in Heisman Trophy finalist Ashton Jeanty. There are potential teams in the top ten or top 15 who could select him before it’s Denver’s turn to pick. Keeping this in mind, the Broncos are encouraged to trade back six spots to No. 26 in ESPN’s Bill Barnwell’s All-Trade 2025 NFL Mock Draft. In this deal, the Los Angeles Rams would trade pick No. 26 and No. 90 in the third round for pick No. 20. The Rams would likely select Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart to set up as their future franchise quarterback, with Matthew Stafford as the bridge quarterback. In the meantime, the Broncos could still go for a running back in the first round like North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton. Denver could be in luck for Penn State tight end Tyler Warren, Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen, or Ohio State wide receiver Emeka Egbuka. The Broncos could still get one of their top-evaluated players in the first round despite only trading back six spots, and they could have another shot at a top-100 value prospect with another third-round pick. At the risk of making the Rams a much better team in the future, the Broncos might potentially take that gamble to solidify their future.
