Everton transfer news as Andre Gomes’ move from Goodison Park is confirmed amid Trabzonspor ties
According to AS Marca, Everton midfielder Andre Gomes is on the verge of leaving Goodison Park to join Trabzonspor.
The Turkish football news outlet, which has roughly 25k Twitter followers and has been referenced in the Liverpool Echo, said on Monday (11 September) that the Portugal international appears to be on his way out.
This summer, Gomes was associated with the exit door, but he did not leave the Toffees.
According to AS Marca, “Trabzonspor is about to add central midfielder Andre Gomes, who plays for Everton, to its squad.”
Make good money
Gomes was never going to see first-team action at Goodison Park this season, and he’s clearly not in Sean Dyche’s plans.
There was a deliberate effort to get rid of him over the summer, but it appears to have failed, and he remains on the books.
The Turkish transfer window is open later than the rest of Europe’s, therefore they may still be able to sign players.
The 30-year-old would like to play frequently rather than return to the Portugal squad after only a few outings.
He spent last season on loan at Lille, where he performed admirably, but it remains to be seen how much he leaves for.
Hopefully, the Toffees are properly compensated, given he is not known to be paid well at Goodison Park.
