Following Real Madrid’s friendly loss to Milan on Wednesday, Alvaro Rodriguez sustained a “severe sprained ankle,” while Cesar Palacios sustained an ACL injury. Both players will make their way back to Madrid, according to Mario Cortegana of The Athletic.
After a very serious injury scare in the 52nd minute, Palacios—who had replaced Luka Modric at the beginning of the second half—had to be replaced. He was replaced by Alvaro Rodriguez, but not before Jeremy De Leon was brought on in the 89th minute. The two Castilla players will now go back to Madrid for additional testing.
Palacios will go through additional testing in Madrid to determine whether or not he needs to have surgery on his knee.
Palacios had a strong previous season for Castilla.
