A’major concert’ at Cleveland Browns Stadium has been announced. Who might it be?
The Cleveland Browns and LiveNation have hinted at a big concert announcement that will soon be made, but they haven’t given any other information.
LiveNation announced in an email to News 5 on Wednesday morning that it will hold a press conference on Thursday at 1 p.m. to reveal the details of a significant concert that will be held in Cleveland.
Mayor Justin Bibb, partner of the Haslam Sports Group Whitney Haslam Johnson, Destination Cleveland President and CEO David Gilbert and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame President and CEO Barry Gabel are all slated to be in attendance. Based on the list of people going to this announcement, it has to be someone major. While we all speculate who it will be, here is a list of artists we actually know are heading to town.
Should the act be a big name, it could help dispel the rumor that big names have been avoiding Cleveland lately.

This isn’t the case for Stump Mitchell, the running back that the Browns fired recently. Mitchell told Camryn Justice of News Channel 5 in a candid interview that he had no animosity toward the team or head coach Kevin Stefanski. But he did apologize for one thing: running back Kareem Hunt.
When asked about the group of gifted running backs he has worked with since moving to Cleveland in 2019, Mitchell said, “I wish I had gotten more out of Hunt,” raising doubts about the 28-year-old’s work ethic.
“The thing that I couldn’t do while I was there is get the best out of Kareem,” Mitchell stated. “I’m hoping the next coach can bring out the best in him if they bring him back.” Making a player better is the only goal a coach can have, but I was unable to convince him to arrive at practice on time or to avoid being the last person out of the room during meetings. Although Kareem is an incredible player, this is a team effort.”
Mitchell continued by outlining some of the ways he tried to get more information from the former Chiefs running back, including pushing important players to talk to him. Nothing, Mitchell said, seemed to affect Hunt’s attitude.
“I tried to use every avenue that I could with Jacoby Brissett, also Deshaun [Watson], those guys talking to him,” Mitchell stated. But in this line of work, timing is crucial.
“Kareem seems like he has a lot to give. However, I believe that he will be an incredible player if he commits himself to achieving his goals and doesn’t settle for being who he has always been.”
After the Browns made the decision not to re-sign Hunt in the offseason, he actually started the 2023 season as a free agent. But Hunt quickly re-signed with the team after Nick Chubb suffered a horrific knee injury in Week 2 that ended the season. Hunt was a natural fit in a running back room that was already thin.
The native of Cleveland went on to lead the team in touchdowns and made a career-high nine trips to the end zone. In the Browns’ 45-14 Wild Card loss to the Texans, he also scored both of their touchdowns. Even so, Hunt’s season wasn’t the most productive; he had a career-low three yards per carry. At the end of the season, he ran for 411 yards.
