Pierce is optimistic that injured stars could play on Monday for the Raiders.

Antonio Pierce, the interim coach of the Raiders, thinks his team might get a unique Christmas present.

He believes that starting offensive linemen Josh Jacobs and Kolton Miller, who are both injured, will be available for Monday’s game against the Chiefs.

Due to a quad injury, Raiders star running back Jacobs was unable to play in the team’s 63-21 victory over the Chargers on December 14. Due to a shoulder injury, Miller, the team’s starting left tackle, has missed four of the previous five games.

Pierce stated, “I believe (Jacobs) was close last week.” We all decided that was what was best for him, on his own terms. I believe he will play this game, if I were a betting man.

When it came to Miller, Pierce was prepared to take a similar risk.

The same deal, Pierce remarked. “Man, if I were betting…

“You want to play in this game, and those guys are going through the process. You don’t want to watch it on TV and you don’t want to sit there. You wish to attend.

The Raiders are not required to release an injury report until Thursday due to their game on Monday, so they did not practice on Wednesday.

When kickoff arrives, Pierce is also hoping for another gift.

Pierce declared, “I want only one present and one wish.” “The goal is to succeed. All I want is to succeed.

In his two seasons with the Raiders, reserve offensive lineman Jordan Meredith has played in a significant amount of games.

Among the most memorable games in the franchise’s history are going to be two of them.

The Western Kentucky native made his NFL debut on December 18, 2022, during the Raiders’ 30-24 victory over the Patriots. Chandler Jones, a defensive end, is most remembered for his walk-off defensive touchdown.

Additionally, Meredith played 16 snaps in the Raiders’ Dec. 10 3-0 loss to the Vikings following center Andre James’ injury. The following game, he played every offensive snap as the team defeated the Chargers to score a franchise-high 63 points.

Being able to take part in Raiders franchise history like that is extremely exciting for me, having been in the throwback miracle and now having the most points, Meredith said. “There are many things I did well and many things I can improve on. All that’s left to do is carry on with the positive while taking note of any errors and making sure to address them so that you’ll be prepared to deal with them down the road.

On Wednesday, the Raiders parted ways with a 2023 draft selection.

Nesta Jade Silvera, a defensive tackle selected in the seventh round by Arizona State who played in just two games this season, was waived by the team. Marquan McCall, a defensive tackle, was also formally added to the Raiders practice squad. Troy Pride, a cornerback, was cut to make room on the practice squad roster.

Jade Silvera’s last game was on November 6th, when the Raiders defeated the Giants 30–6. In his two games, he recorded two tackles.
