Brentford and Fulham make ‘concrete offers’ for player – May need to wait for transfer chance

Brentford and Fulham have made ‘concrete offers’ for Young Boys Bern midfielder Fabian Rieder but may need to wait to secure his signature.

That’s according to BILD, who say the 21-year-old is holding the Premier League duo at arm’s length for the time being as he eyes a move to Borussia Monchengladbach.

The newspaper explains that the player ‘wants to go to Borussia’ and they in turn want the player but while a deal is believed to be on the home stretch, it could fall at the last minute.

That’s because of new interest from the Premier League, where Brentford and Fulham have both made ‘concrete offers’ for him.

Rieder has ‘initially cancelled’ these offers because his Plan A is to move to VfL, with his agent Fabian von Matt, recently confirming talks are underway between the relevant parties.

The problem is that the Bundesliga club don’t have the funds to buy Rieder at this moment in time, with him currently valued at currently valued at €15m.

That’s left the deal in a holding position until Borussia can raise the funds, opening the window for Brentford and Fulham to potentially steal a march.

Rieder is holding them off for now but according to BILD’s information he ‘does not want to wait forever’ as he wants a move this summer.

He doesn’t want things to drag until the last week of August and if Borussia don’t move by then, he’ll look at his other options and a potential switch to the Premier League.

GREAT NEWS: Brentford has in talks to sign £40m promise player from…..

Bayern Munich speak to Brentford’s David Raya about a £40m move to Germany, after the goalkeeper’s proposed switch to Spurs fell through

Bayern Munich have held initial talks over a move for Brentford‘s £40million-rated goalkeeper David Raya, who saw a move to Tottenham fall through earlier this summer.

Raya, 27, has previously said he wants to leave the Bees in search of silverware – and the German giants are perennial winners of the Bundesliga, as well as high achievers on the European stage.

Meanwhile, Bayern are undergoing a revamp as manager Thomas Tuchel prepares for his first full season on the touchline.

Raya has one year left on his current deal with Brentford, and Thomas Frank’s Bees are reluctant to sell their goalkeeper, as his sterling work between the posts helped them finish ninth in the Premier League last season.

The Spanish shot-stopper made 154 saves last season, the highest number in the English top-flight, beating Fulham’s Bernd Leno with 144.

Despite their reluctance, the Bees would let him leave for a fee close to £40m, which would help to boost Frank’s squad in West London, and aid the job of picking up a reliable replacement goalkeeper.

While Spurs were at the front of the race to sign Raya from Brentford, talks have fallen through. Therefore, the Raya will need to find another exit route from the West London club.

Instead, Tottenham turned to Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who they signed last month for £17m.

Raya joined Brentford in 2019 from Blackburn Rovers, and was part of the team that got the Bees promoted to the top-flight two years later. He has gone on to make 161 appearances for the Bees in all competitions across his four years with the club.

Frank’s Brentford side start their Premier League season against Tottenham on August 13, before a trip to West London rivals Fulham the following weekend.

Bayern’s competitive campaign begins with the Supercup against RB Leipzig on August 12, before their Bundesliga opener away to Werder six days later.

Tuchel’s side will be aiming to secure another Bundesliga title, after narrowly clinching last season’s trophy on goal difference from Borrusia Dortmund, who slipped up on the final day.
