Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in West Ham United midfielder Santiago Gimenez.

West Ham United can be satisfied with the four signings they made during the summer transfer window, each of which contributed to the Hammers becoming a stronger team than they were last season.

However, a couple of rumoured targets, notably Feyenoord forward Santiago Gimenez, looked to slip through their grasp.

West Ham attempted to sign the Mexico international before the window closed, according to 90min [25 September].

According to the same source, Premier League rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham are all interested in Gimenez, with all three sending scouts to observe the 22-year-old in action against Ajax over the weekend.

Benfica, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus, and Napoli are among the clubs interested in the Mexican, who has 23 goals in 38 Eredivisie appearances.

It’s unclear whether West Ham’s interest in the Cruz Azul academy product waned after they signed Mohammed Kudus, who formerly played in the Dutch top division with Ajax.

Given the increased interest in Gimenez, West Ham may have missed the boat in terms of acquiring the skilled attacker, should they still be interested.

However, Kudus’ two goals in his first 130 minutes of action for United shows that they won’t be too concerned about losing Gimenez if that turns out to be the case.

It would have been lovely to have landed another player who clearly knows how to score, but this now appears to be a target to move on from in order to avoid becoming engaged in what is shaping up to be a significant bidding war for his signature.

In other West Ham news, the club’s next Premier League opponents are said to have made a decision on their manager’s future.
