WEST HAM UNITED NOW TRYING TO SIGN £250,000-A-WEEK STRIKER
David Moyes’s West Ham United are reportedly trying to sign Anthony Martial from Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
According to talkSPORT, West Ham United want to sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial.
Talks are at an early stage and the Hammers have asked to be kept informed on Martial’s situation.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag may not sanction an exit for Martial because he wants options down the middle, according to the report.
The £250,000-a-week (SalarySport) French striker is under contract at Manchester United until the summer of 2024 with the option for a further year.
West Ham United should not sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United
In our opinion, West Ham United should not sign Manchester United striker Anthony Martial in the summer transfer window.
If the Hammers want to sign a striker, then they should look for someone better.
True, the transfer fee needed for Martial may not be a lot, but that does not mean that West Ham should go for a cheap option.
If West Ham want to sign a striker, then they should get someone who is prolific and will make the team more potent up front.
Although Martial has extensive experience in the Premier League and can also play out wide, he is not prolific.
The Frenchman has made 196 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
Martial has scored 62 goals and given 28 assists in those matches.
We do not think that Martial would make West Ham that much better.
