Everton receives a boost ahead of the Brenford match as the medical director provides an update.

Brentford will be missing crucial player Rico Henry when they face Everton.

Rico Henry will miss the rest of the 2023-24 season, according to Brentford.

The left-back suffered an ACL injury in the Bees’ 1-0 loss to Newcastle United and will need surgery. It means Henry, Brentford’s longest-serving player who has missed just five games since the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2021, will be unavailable when Everton visit west London on Saturday (17.30 BST).

“Rico will require surgery in the next week or so and, unfortunately, a prolonged period of recovery,” said Brentford’s head of medical Neil Greig.

“While this is disappointing, Rico has had a similar experience before and is already focused on using this as an opportunity to become fitter and stronger than before.” We will be there for him every step of the way.”

Everton travel to Brenford looking for their first win of the season, having secured only one point from their first five games.
