The Guardians are averaging 22,594 fans, “up about 20% from this time a year ago,” as the club sits at 44-25 — best in the Central Division, according to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland PLAIN DEALER. The Guardians’ average attendance also is “up 40% in 2023 vs. 2022.” In the last two years, the Guardians have “drawn more than Central Division opponents” the Royals, White Sox and Tigers. Guardians President of Business Operations Brian Barren
said the 3B Jose Ramirez signing was a “real shot in the arm.” Barren: “Every weekend, it’s basically full. You see almost every fan having something in their hands — a beer, a soft drink, something to eat. They engage with each other. There’s a lot of energy.” Pluto noted the Guardians added the “Corner Bar area” down the right field line, while the upper deck in right field now has an “open area known as the Paul Davis Pennant District designed for group outings.” The new standing room only areas have “added new fans.” Barren said, “This has allowed fans to connect
with us — and us with them. They can see our product and they are embracing the team.” Pluto noted that they have “already sold out four games,” and “more are coming as many of the weekend games during the summer are experiencing strong advance sales.” The Guardians are “on pace to set a record for the ‘highest premium revenue’ and highest group sales in franchise history.” They had the “fifth-highest growth in attendance” in MLB this season
