Collingwood is pleased to announce the signing of Mason Cox, Ash Johnson, and Harvey Harrison to new contracts.
All three players have signed new two-year contracts to stay with the Magpies until at least the end of 2025.
Cox, who is now a Pie for life, was picked as an International Rookie with Pick 60 in the 2015 AFL National Draft.
The 211-centimetre ruckman was promoted to the Club’s Senior List in 2017 before making his AFL debut on ANZAC Day in 2016.
Cox has played 107 games for the Black and Whites, scoring 115 goals in that time.
Johnson was Collingwood’s first pick in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft, taken with Pick Three.
Johnson, a proud Gija / Jaru / Bunuba man, made his Collingwood debut in Round 18 of the 2022 season, becoming the Club’s 18th First Nations player to do so.
Since then, the Halls Creek product has played in 23 AFL games, 14 of which were in 2023, scoring 36 goals.
Harrison made his AFL debut in Round 12 last season after being drafted by Collingwood with Pick 52 in the 2021 National AFL Draft.
Since then, the South Australian midfielder has made four AFL games and scored three goals.
Graham Wright, Collingwood’s General Manager of Football, congratulated the trio on their new contracts.
“We’re delighted to have Mason, Ash and Harvey commit to our Club for a further two seasons” , Wright told the club’s website.
“All three have shown significant progress and dedication to their football craft.”
“Mason’s unique journey has been well documented, but what he has accomplished in his eight seasons in the AFL is to be commended.”
“Ash’s journey has also included a determination and will to improve, and when that is combined with his natural talent, his football future is exciting.”
“Harvey impressed during the pre-season, paving the way for more opportunities at AFL level this year.” He’s becoming better all the time, and we’re excited to help him grow in the next years.
“We’re excited about the future of all three players and look forward to seeing their contributions to our Club both on and off field.”
Today’s contract news comes on the heels of the Club’s recent re-signings of John Noble, Beau McCreery, and Jakob Ryan.
