Chandler Jones, an NFL and Raiders player, alleges he was transported to a mental health hospital against his will by the Las Vegas fire department and forcibly injected after making troubling online statements.
Chandler Jones claims the Las Vegas fire department took him involuntarily to a mental health hospital last week.
Jones said in an unsettling social media post Monday night that he was injected against his will and made to sleep on the floor.
It comes only a week after Jones went on a bizarre social media rant accusing Raiders owner Mark Davis of hiding the identity of a guy who he alleges abused his goddaughter.
Jones, who is the younger brother of UFC champion Jon, later said he had been hacked.
In a post on X, captioned ‘First day out but I’m still aligned’, Jones wrote: ‘First day out, if my fans and friends were wondering, I was taken in by the Las Vegas fire department last week against my will.
‘I was injected with I don’t know what. They say it was a court hold and the Las Vegas police put me on it. I hadn’t done anything wrong. The police said people were concerned about me because of my posts online.
‘I answered my front door and a group of 5 to 7 people were there to put me in an ambulance where I was later injected, despite my request. I didn’t have a cell phone or other means of communication. I was transported to Southern Hills Hospital and then transferred to Seven Hills, where they attempted to coerce me into taking medications and injections.
‘I phoned Raiders GM 6 to 7 times for assistance and worried if he had put me in here, but he never answered. I even left voicemails for him. I was simply wondering why I’m still not permitted in the building and why I have to watch my brothers suffer every Sunday. But there was no response.
This is NOT the place for famous athletes. I slept on the floor my first night because I was not offered a bed.
‘My brothers had to bring me adequate food and clothing. My father comes over and tells me bible texts. Every day I miss is worth a million dollars. I’m still not sure what I did wrong. I’m still around. I’m perfectly normal.
‘Every day, I work out in my room. If you ask the workers here, it’s even down the corridor at 3 a.m.
All I know is that whoever placed me here had ill motives. I’m far too (sic) powerful to be mentally broken. For all of my pals that know me, THEY KNOW!!!’.
Jones also shared a picture of a document, with a sub-heading titled ‘patient rights’ that had lines highlighted such as ‘you have the right to refuse treatment and medication’, ‘you have the right to be treated in the least restrictive environment’ and ‘the right to receive an explanation of treatment goals, methods’.
Jones, a defensive end, was placed on the non-football illness list by the Raiders last week, effectively ruling him out indefinitely.
At the time, Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels remarked, “It’s a personal situation and a private matter.” ‘We dealt with it, and I’m not going to bring it up again.’
