Moving Forward Tyrese Campbell and Wesley will depart Stoke City when their contracts expire this summer.

Wesley, a Brazilian, signed with the Potters last summer after previously joining Aston Villa in 2019 for a then-record £22 million.

In 164 games for Stoke, Campbell scored 36 goals. In their final two games of the 2023–24 season, he was on target.

The Potters have exercised their option to extend the contract of midfielder Jordan Thompson for an additional year, but defender Ciaran Clark will also be leaving the team.

Goalie Frank Fielding has inked a new one-year contract, while negotiations for a new deal with full-back Enda Stevens are still ongoing.

Sporting director Jonathan Walters stated, “Those leaving know we are extremely grateful for their efforts during their time with the club.”

“Tyrese’s accomplishment of playing in over 150 games for one team is exceptional in the current era and has made a substantial impact on our club’s history.”

A complete retained list, according to the club, will be made public eventually.

Stoke avoided relegation and finished the season with three straight victories, moving them up to 17th place in the Championship standings.

Even so, it was the team’s lowest result in twenty-one years, dating back to their 2003 promotion season, when they placed 21st in the second division.

Stoke’s Championship finishing positions after dropping out of the Premier League in 2018 have been an almost symmetrical disappointment: 16th, 15th, 14th, 16th, and 17th.
