Reporter close to Sullivan says West Ham will announce brilliant new signing today
A reporter close to David Sullivan has claimed that West Ham United will announce a brilliant new signing today.
West Ham have endured a tough summer transfer window so far, but the good news is that David Moyes is about to make his second signing.
The Hammers drew our opening game of the season against Bournemouth down on the south coast on Saturday afternoon.
However, it was painfully clear to see that we desperately need more quality, especially in the middle of the park.
And it seems as though West Ham have now addressed that particular problem…

The Hammers have already signed Edson Alvarez and now a second player is en route to the London Stadium.
Despite what some people may think, I genuinely believe that this signing could end up being a great deal for the club.
James Ward-Prowse will be announced as a new West Ham player today according to Sean Whetstone who tweeted last last night:
Ward-Prowse will be a very good new signing for West Ham, I’m sure of it.
He possesses exceptional technique from set-pieces and is a very hard worker. The 28-year-old is a good passer of the football as well.
Ward-Prowse, 28, is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League, and has been described as a ‘brilliant’ player by The Athletic.
The 11-capped England international is a proper leader – something that we’re desperately short of as a team right now.
I think he’ll go on to be a really great addition for West Ham over the next few years.

GREAT NEWS: West Ham has agreed to sign international player from…..
‘Eye-catching’ Conor Gallagher to West Ham transfer could well be on
West Ham are set to move in for Conor Gallagher, with Moises Caicedo closing in on a move to Chelsea this summer.
According to TEAMtalk, a move for West Ham to sign Conor Gallagher is very much on in the summer transfer window, although Tottenham want the 23-year-old as well.
Chelsea want around £50 million for Gallagher – a player West Ham have been chasing all summer long it seems.
Now though, Hammers boss David Moyes will have a great chance to prise him away from Stamford Bridge, with Moises Caicedo close to joining the Blues.
And it seems as though the Scot is not prepared to take no for an answer when it comes to signing Gallagher this summer…
‘Eye-catching’ Conor Gallagher to West Ham transfer could well be on
TEAMtalk reckon that the Hammers and Tottenham will move to sign the 23-year-old England international once Caicedo’s move from Brighton to Chelsea goes through.
I think Gallagher will be excellent for West Ham, but the £50 million that the Blues are demanding does seem to be a little excessive.
£35-40 million would be a fair price in my opinion.
Football.London have described the 23-year-old as ‘incredible’, and on his day he really is a very good player.
He has bundles of energy, stamina and athleticism and would be ideally suited to playing the attacking midfield role at the London Stadium.
If West Ham sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this summer I’ll be absolutely delighted.
However, I just can’t see the Hammers owners spending anything like £50 million on him.

JUST IN: West Ham has formally announce new signing
West Ham United set to make formal James Ward-Prowse announcement – Sky Sports
West Ham will make a formal announcement regarding the signature of James Ward-Prowse from Southampton on Monday, according to Sky Sports.
The publication reported on its website on Sunday (13 August) that the Hammers are finalising the paperwork on his contract.
The midfielder will move to the London Stadium for £30million, with West Ham man Flynn Downes heading the other way on loan.
“West Ham are finalising the paperwork on James Ward-Prowse’s contract ahead of his £30m move from Southampton,” according to Sky Sports. “A formal announcement is expected on Monday.
“Flynn Downes is also having a Southampton medical today. The deal is for a season-long loan.”
This really is good business from West Ham, who clearly still want to strengthen in midfield having already signed Edson Alvarez from Ajax.
It just shows how much the club are missing former captain and midfielder Declan Rice, who earlier this summer joined Arsenal for £105million.
The new Gunners man has left a huge hole in the West Ham midfield, with two new signings needed from David Moyes to help fill that hole.
Hammers fans have been desperate for new midfielders all summer, and after many painful weeks, it looks like they could now have a fantastic new duo in place for their two defensive midfield spots, if indeed that is the plan from Moyes.
As for Downes, it seems that his long-term future may lie away from the London Stadium, even if he is only leaving on a short-term deal.
He may feel unlucky about his career in claret and blue so far, but there is no doubt that Ward-Prowse is an upgrade on the 24-year-old, who joined from Swansea City last summer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have missed a multi-million deadline to complete the signing of a new striker this summer.
