Gallagher was the highest-rated player in WVU’s 2023 class, a decorated high school quarterback who spent his true freshman season learning how to play receiver. He’s squeezing in extra snaps as a defensive back because the Mountaineers see his lateral quickness for the position and a way to develop a player who might help the defense.
