Luton Town – And Another Signing Is Announced
be nothing I could do to stop it.
When it comes to this site, Friday is definitely a no-go when it comes to scribing articles, as it is the one day of the week I look after one of my young grandaughters full time.
So, after Tahith Chong was reported as having his medical, at Luton, on Wednesday, my fears were that it would be a while until the confirmation the deal had been done, would surface.
Sure enough, keeping an eye on my lap-top, but without taking the other off my 16-month-old grandaughter, I noticed that the BBC, were reporting, earlier this morning, that the Birmingham City player had signed on the dotted line.
Once again, the fee has been described as ‘undisclosed’ a now familiar term to us Hatters, but the consensus of opinion, around the internet, is that the fee could be around the £4 million mark but could double once any add-ons have been achieved.
In my view, it is an excellent signing and Chong, along with Chiedozie Ogbene, will add so much to Luton’s attacking threat.
Chong has the ability to run, at speed, with the ball inviting the oppositio to try and disposses him without giving away a foul in dangerous positions.
Playing out wide, Chong can stretch defences and if Rob Edwards chooses to deploy Ogbene on the opposite flank, their foraging runs could provided acres of space for Carlton Morris to exploit.
My only misgiving is that he isn’t a prolific scorer but that could very well come with time and some fresh coaching.
Welcome to Luton Town Football Club Tahith Chong.
