Jameson Williams will play this week, according to Jared Goff.

On Monday, Detroit Lions receiver Jameson Williams returned to the team two weeks early after the NFL reinstated him from suspension after changing the rules and consequences with their gambling policy. Naturally, Lions fans were enraged. Then this occurred.

It’s that “if” that has everyone frightened. The whole Dan Campbell remark is as follows: “We also know that if he does play, he can’t play 60 plays, that’s not smart.”

All night, everyone was concerned about the “if” clause. You no longer have to be concerned about the “if” aspect. When Lions quarterback Jared Goff revealed that Jameson Williams will be involved “to some extent” against the Panthers on Sunday, he pretty much confirmed that he will play.

That’s all there is to it. That is consistent with what Campbell stated on Monday. On Sunday, Jameson Williams appears to be on a snap count. Williams returned to Lions practice on Tuesday and participated fully throughout the session.

Williams, for one, insists his hamstring is OK and that he’s ready to play. He also stated that he worked out for the entire 33 days he was away. He even borrowed a page from Amon-Ra St. Brown’s book. From his Juggs machine, he caught 100 passes per day. He caught 3,300 balls during his absence. On Sunday, those hands should be ready to catch some passes.

We’ll see how much he’s genuinely involved on Sunday. I wouldn’t expect him to play like he did when he returned from his ACL injury in 2022.He’ll get to see a lot more than that. Expect the Lions to give him a Marvin Jones-type day, with around 30 snaps. He’ll undoubtedly see some targets.
