Duke PG Jeremy Roach is acquired by Baylor through the Transfer Portal.

A few minutes ago, according to an announcement on his Instagram page, Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears made a big splash in the Transfer Portal market by securing the commitment of Duke PG Jeremy Roach. Since I can’t embed Instagram posts in the same manner, I’m using Twitter:

Roach was ranked #20 by TheAthletic and #12 overall by On3 as of the time of this posting in the Transfer Portal. This past season, while playing for the Blue Devils, he averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game while shooting 42.9% from three. With one year to play one year in Waco, he should jump right into the starting lineup for Baylor, which has had some success in the past with transfer guards.

Additionally, Baylor has reportedly welcomed Tennessee transfer Jonas Aidoo to campus this weekend. As of this writing, the Portal has him ranked #8 overall. Along with all-around recruit V.J. Edgecombe, he and Roach would be fantastic additions from the Portal. Aidoo may have been the cause of Matt Norlander’s (usually fairly tied in) recent tweet:

In the upcoming days, we’ll have more information on the Roach addition, but for now, don’t believe anything you read about the $1.5 million price tag. Roach himself is among those who have publicly refuted that, and it is most likely untrue. Welcome to our newest member on Twitter and other platforms as well! #SicEm
