Cahill’s name has returned to the A-League!
Shae Cahill, son of Socceroos legend Tim Cahill, has signed a multi-year contract with Brisbane Roar from English club Everton.
After four years of football in England, progressing through the youth ranks of the club where his father became a legend, the young midfielder decided to return to Australia and join the Roar ahead of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
Last season, Shae Cahill appeared nine times for Everton’s U18 team, recording three assists.
He is the son of perhaps the greatest Socceroo of all time, who acquired that title after a two-decade career in which he gained 108 international caps and scored 189 goals in 651 games.
Shae Cahill’s arrival in Brisbane has been heralded as a sign of an exciting era for the club.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Shae Cahill from Everton’s world class academy to the Brisbane Roar,” Kaz Patafta, the Roar’s CEO, said
“Securing such a promising young midfielder demonstrates our club’s new vision of integrating youth into our squad and first team environment.” Shae’s entrance heralds a new era for the Roar family.”
