Everton transfer update emerges on Mama Balde as unnamed club makes bid
Everton have not expressed an interest in signing Troyes striker Mama Balde, despite reports suggesting the Toffees would make a move to sign him, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The newspaper shared via its website on 23 August that, despite opposing reports, Everton have not made any contact with Troyes, although the French outfit have received an offer from an unnamed club.
Journalist Paul Brown claimed via GIVEMESPORT [21 August] that Everton held a genuine interest in the striker, and that he would be a backup option in case the deal for Che Adams fell through.
Other options will be assessed
Despite having not made any contact with Troyes over a deal to bring Balde to Goodison Park, that doesn’t mean to say Everton hadn’t considered a move for him at some point this summer as their seemingly endless hunt for a striker dragged on.
Now, with the addition of Che Adams still looking likely despite a hiccup over the structure of the payment, their attentions will have turned to other options, with Adams likely the final recruit up front after bringing in Youssef Chermiti already.
Speculation will continue about who the unnamed club are, with both the Liverpool Echo and Brown claiming there is interest in the striker from elsewhere in the Premier League.
Everton have been exploring plenty of options to fill at hole at striker, with concerns over Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s ability to stay fit, while Neal Maupay continues to disappoint in front of goal, and Chermiti is not yet ready to make an impact on the first team.
