The Wearside-born left-back progressed through the Academy of Light before joining Manchester United in the summer of 2020.
However, following a successful trial, the 19-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the Clarets and will join the under-21 team at Turf Moor, bringing his time at Old Trafford to an end.
While the Academy of Light kept its Category One accreditation in 2020, Stewart Donald and Charlie Methven permitted some promising young stars to depart.
