According to the Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, Tottenham Hotspur are looking at re-signing Edwards   in the forthcoming transfer window.

After progressing through Tottenham’s development system, the 24-year-old decided to join Vitoria Guimaraes on a permanent basis in 2019. After showing hints of his talent for the Conquerors, the Englishman drew the notice of Sporting CP, and the Lions chose to sign him last year.

Edwards has continued to put in strong performances for Ruben Amorim’s team after relocating to the Jose Alvalade stadium. The forward’s eye-catching displays appear to have piqued the interest of several major European teams, with Tottenham among those who have expressed an interest.

Sport Witness alleges, quoting and translating the print version of O Jogo, that Tottenham are contemplating a move for Edwards and have recently made contact with Sporting to learn about the details of signing him.

According to the article, the Portuguese giants have stated that they have no intention of selling their star player anytime soon. Spurs will face a difficult task convincing the Lions to sell their star player if they formalize their interest.

Tottenham will get Edwards.
O Jogo also claims that Spurs will receive 35% of any future fee Sporting receives from the sale of the forward. So,

The forward, who is worth roughly £26 million according to Transfermarkt, still has three years left on his current contract, putting Sporting in a great position to demand a large amount if they are forced to sell next year.

Edwards is a versatile forward who can play anywhere in the attacking midfield position, is quick and technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight spaces, can create chances for teammates, and can finish his chances.

The Englishman is an exceptionally gifted player with a lot of potential, so acquiring him would be a huge coup for Spurs.

However, it will be intriguing to watch whether Tottenham decides to take a more concrete approach.
