This weekend’s spring game will feature a 4-star quarterback prospect from Virginia Tech football.
The Virginia Tech football team will kick off its yearly spring game at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Lane Stadium. In Brent Pry’s second season in Blacksburg, many of the key players from last year’s 7-6 team are back for this year’s game, which is anticipated.
According to Pry and the other coaches, spring practices have been going really well these past few weeks, and it should be an entertaining afternoon to watch some of the position battles unfold. Pop Watson versus Dylan Wittke for the backup quarterback position behind Kyron Drones is one of those positional contests. Additionally, Pry and the Hokies will be hosting four-star quarterback Malik Washington on Saturday.
The Class of 2025 member from Severn, Maryland has a number of offers to pick from, including those from Syracuse, Maryland, Central Florida, and Oregon, to mention a few. With an impressive arm, the Archbishop Spalding signal caller is a consensus Top 20 quarterback in the class. A firsthand look at the Hokies spring game will be provided for the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Washington.
He was the driving force behind Archbishop Spalding’s Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) A Conference championship this past season. He won numerous honors, such as Player of the Year.
Until he makes this decision, he will receive a lot of attention and is ranked highly by many recruiting websites. If Virginia Tech and Pry are going to land him, they will have their work cut out for them because Texas’s Kelden Ryan, a quarterback in the Class of 2025, has already committed. The Hokies’ recruiting class is off to a strong start with several important in-state commits, and Washington presents them with the chance to add another elite quarterback to the group.
