£160,000-A-WEEK PLAYER COULD BE TEMPTED TO JOIN WEST HAM

Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips could be open to a move to David Moyes’s West Ham United, according to a report.

90min has reported that West Ham United are interested in signing Kalvin Phillips from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

The Hammers reportedly want to find a replacement for Declan Rice, who has moved to London and Premier League rivals Arsenal.

The report has claimed that despite wanting to stay at City, Phillips “may be tempted by the offer of regular football at West Ham as he bids to be a part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad for Euro 2024”.

West Ham United could struggle to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester Coty

In our opinion, West Ham United could struggle to sign Kalvin Phillips from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

First of all, Phillips has been at City for only a season.

The 27-year-old England international midfielder will surely not want to leave the Citizens after just a year.

After all, City won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, and the former Leeds United star will surely want to remain a part of a winning team.

Phillips will have seen with Jack Grealish how it can take a while for players to get used to City manager Pep Guardiola’s way of playing.

Moreover, Phillips may not fancy a move to West Ham after turning out for City.

Yes, the Hammers won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season, but David Moyes’s side almost got relegated from the Premier League.

We believe that the £160,000-a-week (SalarySport) midfielder is likely to stay at City, at least for the first half of next season.

Phillips has made 61 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The England international midfielder has scored one goal and given three assists in those games.
