Everton: An approach has also been made for a Gnonto replacement.
The Toffees require attacking reinforcements urgently.
Everton have made a deadline-day bid for Leeds United attacker Luis Sinisterra, according to a new source, and the latest on both the Colombian and Wilfried Gnonto.
Who is departing from Leeds?
Sinisterra has made 26 appearances for Daniel Farke’s side since joining from Feyenoord last summer, but after just one season, there’s a good likelihood that he’ll be on the move before the end of play tonight.
The Whites’ left-winger has four years left on his contract, but after establishing himself as his club’s third best-performing player last season, according to WhoScored, he’s been garnering Premier League interest from Sean Dyche.
Back in August, Football Transfers claimed that the Toffees were mulling a move for the 24-year-old, but since then, the hubbub surrounding any kind of potential deal has drastically quieted down due to the rekindled interest for Gnonto, which now appears to be going ahead.
According to the same source, the Goodison Park club have already announced the loan arrival of Jack Harrison and are understood to have re-entered talks over a transfer for Gnonto, but club officials look to be seeking to secure a hat-trick of players from Yorkshire by securing the Colombia international.
Is Luis Sinisterra joining Everton?
Everton have “asked” Leeds about a late deal for Sinisterra, according to The Daily Mail’s Simon Jones (via Goodison News), in a last-ditch attempt to get him to Merseyside.
The Blues have also “revived their interest” in West Ham United’s Maxwel Cornet, a transfer that might happen with David Moyes’ side already securing Juventus’ Filip Kostic as his replacement.
Luis Sinisterra has how many goals?
Sinisterra has nine contributions (eight goals and one assist) to his name during his time at Leeds, demonstrating how much of a positive impact he can make in the final third, and having been dubbed the “Colombian Flash” for his pace by members of the media, he could be a fantastic addition for Everton.
Farke’s £65k-per-week salary earner has also produced a total of 13 shot-creating actions this season, which is more than any of his teammates, according to FBRef, not to mention how strong his link-up play is, with a 92.6% pass success rate in the second tier, which is higher than any of Dyche’s squad have achieved to date.
The Toffees target can also play in five different positions, including all across the frontline and two roles in midfield, so he could provide the boss with some welcome versatility, allowing him to tinker with his team selection while also being useful if any unexpected injuries occur.
Finally, Sinisterra has the same agent, Wasserman, as Andre Gomes and Joao Virginia, so his representative’s existing link to the club could assist them communicate when it comes to discussing a possible agreement before 11 p.m. this evening.
