“Why not?” – Newcastle’s aim opens the door to a move, and the Magpies might get a good deal.

Newcastle United was one among the clubs linked with VfB Stuttgart player Serhou Guirassy during the last transfer window.

Last season, the striker performed admirably for the Bundesliga club, scoring 14 goals and providing two assists in 29 games. He was instrumental in keeping the team from relegation, which encouraged Stuttgart to extend his loan.

He had a €15 million release clause that was set to expire on August 11th, and Kicker claimed last month that the German club was relieved when Newcastle and other interested clubs decided not to exercise it.

Bild has now asked the Guinea international why he stayed at Stuttgart despite having the possibility to move to England, where Newcastle is said to be interested.

In response, he stated, “We have a good team, a good coach, and incredible fans.” In Stuttgart, we feel really at ease as a family. That is why I chose to stay at VfB.”
Guirassy’s decision has paid off, as he has 11 goals and two assists in six games this season. He declined to commit to staying with the German club beyond the winter season.

In addition, the attacker has hinted at a possible move to the Premier League in the future. Any team, including Eddie Howe’s, can sign the player for €20 million [release clause] next summer.

When asked if he aspires to play in England, Guirassy replied, “Not exactly a dream.” But, if the opportunity to play in the Premier League exists, why not take it? But I don’t dream about it every day.”

Newcastle United’s summer interest makes a lot of sense, and the economic value of this potential trade makes it very appealing.
