During a goal celebration at Sheffield United, Newcastle’s Elliot Anderson was hit with a bottle thrown from the bleachers.

Elliot Anderson of Newcastle was hit by a bottle during his team’s goal celebrations at Bramall Lane.

Sven Botman scored his first goal for the club in the 35th minute to put the Magpies up 3-0 over Sheffield United.

But the joy was short-lived when his teammate was wounded by a bottle thrown from the crowd.

A number of bottles were thrown in the incident, according to video footage.

Captain Kieran Trippier instantly checked on his teammate, who was thankfully not gravely injured in the incident, and then continued with the celebrations.

Botman’s goal capped an impressive first half for Eddie Howe’s men, who also scored through Sean Longstaff and Dan Burn.

The Blades have had a dismal start to their Premier League return.

Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski scored in the 98th and 100th minutes, respectively, to make it 2-1 and cancel out Gustavo Hamer’s opener for Paul Heckingbottom’s side last Saturday.

As a result, the Yorkshire club is still looking for their first win of the season, having lost four of their five league games thus far.

Meanwhile, Newcastle appears to be on track to go four games unbeaten in all competitions and win back-to-back league titles.
