Harry Kane: PSG stun Bayern with astonishing Tottenham swap offer that’ll leave Man Utd raging
PSG are preparing to offer Tottenham a a clinical forward on top of a sizeable sum for Harry Kane, with a tantalising swap deal to wreck Bayern Munich’s plans and leave Man Utd seething, per a report.
Tottenham are understandably determined to retain the services of their all-time leading scorer. Kane, 29, has just one year remaining on his current contract. If it’s made clear he’ll not pen fresh terms, a reluctant sale this summer would make sense for Spurs.
In any case, Tottenham will do all they can to prevent an exit. However, Kane has reportedly given Bayern the go-ahead to sign him. What’s more, the fact Man Utd and PSG are chasing his signature means Spurs face threats from all angles.
The Sun recently brought news of PSG attempting to usurp Bayern by lodging a cash-plus-player offer involving Fabian Ruiz.
But according to Gianluca Di Marzio, a far more appealing swap offer is now in play.
Indeed, the trusted reporter’s website revealed PSG are contemplating offering Xavi Simons as part of a mammoth cash-plus-player offer.
Simons, 20, is coming off the back of an outstanding campaign with PSV Eindhoven. Simons – who primarily operates as an attacking midfielder or winger – remarkably finished second in the Eredivisie top scorers chart with 19 goals.
Simons joined PSV one year ago, though his move from PSG contained a buy-back clause.
Fabrizio Romano recently revealed PSG have activated the clause and Simons is due to return to Paris. However, in the event the Parisian side retain both Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, Simons will be allowed to leave on loan. The frontrunner for his signature is RB Leipzig.
But per Di Marzio, PSG have another plan in mind amid hopes serving up Simons will allow them to land Kane.
How much PSG would offer on top of Simons wasn’t stated. Regardless, including a player with the world at his feet like Simons would certainly give Spurs something to consider.
If PSG were successful in pulling off the coup, both Bayern and Man Utd would be denied the chance to sign Kane.
There’d also be a second blow for Man Utd, with today’s Euro Paper Talk revealing Erik ten Hag had tried to bring Simons to Old Trafford. Instead, the Dutch international could conceivably line up against United in Tottenham colours next season.
If PSG get their way, Kane will wind up in France and Bayern, Leipzig and Man Utd will all be left stranded.
