David Moyes reveals ‘Sleepless nights’ at Everton as he speaks out on players..

David Moyes has turned everything around at Everton since his return to Goodison Park.

When Sean Dyche was sacked by Everton back in January, the Toffees sat just one point clear of the relegation zone, with the future looking bleak.

However, Moyes’ record has been nothing short of impressive, with the Blues climbing up to 13th in the Premier League.

Moyes makes admission about Everton relegation
The Friedkin Group may have been seen as taking a bit of a risk, returning to the management of Moyes after so many years away from Merseyside.

However, it seemed to be the boost that the players needed, with several players having seriously upped their levels of late.

With a move to Bramley-Moore Dock at the end of the season, being relegated at the end of this campaign would have been disastrous in terms of the immediate progression of the Merseyside outfit.

While the Scotsman has taken to the role like a duck on water, he has admitted that he wasn’t confident that the tenure would go the way he wanted it to.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (14 May, 8:38 am), Moyes admitted: “I didn’t want to be taking the club into the Championship, that was for sure.

“There was no, no way I could imagine that. That’s what the couple of sleepless nights were in the early part of the job, I’m saying, how are we going to turn this around and how are we going to get some results?

“But if I look back at that now and I look at how well the players have done, I look at the results we’ve had, and I’ve been probably, way above probably everyone’s expectations, mine as well. But, the players I have to say have been exceptional, they really have been.”

TFG can push Everton further
After everything the Everton fans have had to endure over the past few seasons, the main thing about the takeover was bringing stability to Merseyside, with survival on the minds of most.

However, looking at how well Moyes has done in the second half of the season certainly raises questions over how much can be achieved next term.

Everton can push further next season.
This season, it has been shown that the Premier League can be open to anyone, as sides with smaller budgets than the typical ‘big six’ have been pushing right at the top of the table.

Therefore, if TFG show Moyes the support he needs to strengthen the side appropriately this summer, who knows what the new campaign could bring?

There are plenty of changes that need to be made so a big job lies ahead at Goodison but supporters certainly have reasons to be excited.
