Max Johnston: Scotland Starlet Draws Premier League Attention
Rising Profile in Austria
Max Johnston’s career is accelerating with the kind of upward curve that catches the eye of scouts and decision-makers across Europe. At 21, the Scotland international is thriving at Sturm Graz, not just performing well but excelling—both in the Austrian Bundesliga and on the continental stage in the Champions League.

Former Saints star insists St. Mary’s have spoiled Southampton’s attitude..

Well, to think, Southampton were just a decision away in December on hiring Corberan and fighting for European status. But they chose a recently sacked Ivan Juric, and messed it up all.

Yet what’s surprising is that we haven’t seen any discussion among the St Mary’s faithful on this decision or any reaction in response. And that’s true for the ton of wrong decisions taken by the club’s board this season.

Instead, what we have witnessed is Southampton fans’ recent celebrations after a Man City draw, as if they had achieved a once-in-a-lifetime success. Or on another day, their patience with the players even after a shameful relegation.

Like it or not, while such support sounds positive, it has done Southampton more bad than good. And that’s something, former Saint Morgan Schneiderlin totally relates to.

Former club hero questions the over expressed support of Saints fans
Recently, speaking to BBC Radio(as quoted by the Daily Echo), Schneiderlin talked of Southampton, saying: “Their results have been so bad to lose 28 games out of 36. In other countries, stadiums would be half empty and fans would be throwing seats on the pitches.”

Honestly, with this comment, Schneiderlin doesn’t expect Saints fans to be violent with the club, but at least to hold them a bit accountable.

Thankfully, though, things are slowly improving, even if at a snail’s pace at Southampton. Call it frustration of the fans or anything, but them calling out the wrong has been the new norm these days.

Still, coincidentally, that beginning has matched the timeline of Juric’s removal and Southampton’s results betterment under Simon Rusk now.

Not to be harsh, but arguably Juric’s appointment was the worst decision taken by Southampton ever. One that halted their success by curbing the fans’ voice in multiple ways.

Hopefully, the club doesn’t witness such an era ever again.
