Leeds United could be without Willy Gnonto for up to ‘eight weeks’ after the forward underwent ankle surgery, according to Football Insider. He suffered the injury in the Whites’ 0-0 draw at Hull City earlier this month and is now out.

Gnonto, an Italy international with 13 caps to his name, was extensively linked with a move away from Elland Road over the summer but opted to stay when the transfer deadline passed. Last season, as his club was demoted to the Championship, the 19-year-old scored four goals in all competitions.

Target has a new deal.

Celtic have signed Leeds target Matt O’Riley to a new contract. Farke has been trying to entice the former Denmark youth international to come to England.

He has, however, pledged his future to the Scottish Premiership champions until 2027. “I can’t express how much I enjoy playing football here, honestly,” he said on their website. It’s great to be a part of a football family.
