Newcastle United capped off a spectacular week with an 8-0 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane on Sunday. The visitors started slowly but quickly got into gear, scoring three goals before the break because to some great Kieran Trippier set-piece deliveries.

Bruno Guimaraes joined in the fun, scoring Newcastle’s eighth goal 17 minutes from time. At first, the Brazilian’s reaction was subdued, almost as if he was embarrassed to be thrilled considering the score.
However, after strolling over to the stands and receiving no reaction, Guimaraes picked up the match ball and tucked it under his jumper to commemorate his partner’s pregnancy. He then repeatedly banged his chest and pointed to the ground after Sky cameras switched to a playback, indicating he was remaining in Newcastle.
The midfielder’s contract negotiations have dominated recent headlines, with his Newcastle extension on the verge of being confirmed. When asked about the transaction after the game, Eddie Howe remarked, “Everything is happening away from me.” I’m just focused on football, so I have no idea.”
Anderson was struck by an object.
Some Sheffield United fans had definitely had enough as Newcastle celebrated their third goal of the first half. One man even threw a bottle of liquor onto the pitch to express his rage.
After flying above a group of Newcastle stars, the object collided with Elliot Anderson before exploding. Thankfully, the Magpies man was unharmed, but you assume that some of the home support may face a ban as a result of the event.
Howe commented on the situation, saying, “Elliot has not spoken to me about it.” Things were hurled, which is not what we want to see. My initial thought was solely for the benefit of the athletes.”
Sheffield United’s day in a nutshell
The greater the goal tally increased, the more the home team desired to hear the final whistle. Before they could get their wish, substitute Tom Davies dropped the ball, allowing Alexander Isak to complete the game with his eighth goal of the day.
Many home fans had already left, but those who remained inside Bramall Lane found it difficult to watch. This includes assistant manager Stuart McCall, who had his head in his hands for at least 10 seconds following Isak’s goal.
While McCall hid behind his hands in the latter minutes, one home supporter was seen reading a book in the stands as the drubbing occurred.
