Broncos Trade Idea Lands Second-Round DL From Saints..

The Denver Broncos have made a lot of great moves during the offseason, and have rounded out their roster in preparation for the 2025 NFL Draft. There are only a few clear needs, one of which is defensive line depth. This trade idea lands the Broncos an under-used lineman from the 2023 NFL Draft. This trade idea has the Broncos and New Orleans Saints executing a deal which sends former 2023 second-round pick Isaiah Foskey to the Broncos for a fifth-round pick. Foskey is 24 years old, and has two more years under contract. Denver needs to add defensive line depth, especially those under contract beyond the 2025 season. Zach Allen, John Franklin-Meyers, Malcolm Roach, and Nick Bonitto are all unrestricted free agents after 2025. While Allen and Bonitto will be priority re-signings by next

offseason, the Broncos should prepare in the case that one of more leave. Adding Foskey, who has two more years under contract, would be a great way to address the defensive line depth. The Saints would be receptive to this deal, as Foskey is behind both Carl Granderson and Cameron Jordan on the depth chart. He will likely not get much play time in 2025, and the Saints could look to re-coup value after a frustrating two seasons. In his two years with New Orleans, Foskey hasn’t had a single sack, nor a single start. He has barely seen the field for New Orleans, playing just 147 snaps over two years on defense. As the 40th selection in the 2023 NFL Draft, Foskey had a lot of potential. His scouting report from NFL.com had his prospect grade at 6.35, with the tag of being an eventual plus starter. He hasn’t had much of an opportunity in New Orleans and could have that chance in Denver. This trade idea has the Broncos taking a swing on a defensive lineman with multiple years of control left, and hasn’t had a chance to get on the field. Foskey could be a sneaky big addition for the Broncos, and would likely not cost much to add.

2025 NFL Draft Profile: SMU running back Brashard Smith..

If the Denver Broncos are interested in adding a running back with premier receiving skills, SMU standout Brashard Smith is a player to watch for.

The 2025 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away. We have covered a lot of running backs to date in our annual prospect scouting reports. However, one intriguing player that deserves a deeper dive that hasn’t been discussed yet is SMU standout Brashard Smith.

After spending his first three seasons with the Miami Hurricanes primarily playing wide receiver and being a return specialist, Smith transferred to the Mustangs for his senior season. A change in scenery also meant a change in position, and the fourth-year player had a breakout year after switching to running back.

During his only year as a starter, Smith carried the ball 235 times for 1,332 yards and 14 touchdowns. He added 39 catches for 327 yards and 4 touchdowns as a receiver. When you sprinkle in his return numbers, Smith had nearly 2,000 all-purpose yards in 2024. His performance on the field and successful pre-draft circuit have caused him to rise from a late-round pick to someone who may hear his named called in the first 100 selections.

The Broncos had a formal interview with him at the NFL Combine. I think Head Coach Sean Payton will undoubtedly be intrigued by his receiving skills and big-play ability that may earn him some ‘joker’ consideration. Let’s take a deeper look at Smith, his strengths and weaknesses, and when Denver should consider picking him in this year’s draft
