A pair of Bruins rookies could make their NHL debuts on Tuesday night.
Boston called up John Farinacci and Frederic Brunet ahead of the season finale against the Devils at TD Garden.

Brunet, 21, is a left shot defenseman the Bruins selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, while the 24-year-old Farinacci signed with Boston as a college free agent in 2023 after starring at Harvard.
A center, Farinacci has nine goals and 28 assists in 57 AHL games this season. During the preseason, he said one of his goals for 2024-25 was increasing his tempo.
“The big thing for me is my pace of play,” Farinacci said in September. “I think picking up how fast I play and not only just with my feet but with my mind, too. I feel like I have a pretty good mind. Usually, that’s my advantage.”
Both players have spent the past two seasons in Providence.
In a pair of corresponding moves, the Bruins sent forward Riley Duran and defenseman Michael Callahan back down to the AHL. Callahan scored one goal in 17 games with Boston, while Duran didn’t find the scoresheet in two games with the big club.

Detroit was slowly improving under general manager Steve Yzerman until this year. The Hall of Fame player was hired away from Tampa Bay in 2019 and the patience he asked for is running thin.

The rebuilding franchise traded captain Brad Marchand last month at the trade deadline, dealing the last remaining member of its sixth championship team in 2011.
