Lions’ Injury Report for Week 10 on Thursday
Many of the Detroit Lions’ players have recovered from their bye week last week.
Running back David Montgomery and offensive linemen Jonah Jackson and Frank Ragnow appear likely to play in Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Lions’ offense will so see a significant uptick. Together, Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs will give the team two reliable big-play backs, and the offensive line appears to be in the best shape it has been since the Kansas City season opener.
This gives quarterback Jared Goff some comfort because he will be facing Los Angeles’ potent pass rush tandem of Joey Bosa and Khalil Mack with an abundance of weapons and a strong offensive line.
As for us, it simply provides the continuity we’ve known with those guys for training camp and most of the season, Goff remarked. Additionally, bringing Jonah back once he’s recovered. Frank and Jackson should both be well and ready to go.
Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Levi Onwuzurike did not practice during the media-accessible portion of the Lions’ practice on Thursday.
Since sustaining an injury in Week 2, the seasoned offensive lineman has been in and out of the starting lineup, but Onwuzurike has been a healthy scratch since Week 7 against Baltimore.

With one of the best records in the NFC, the Detroit Lions have been using one of their best offensive weapons for the last few weeks. Due to a rib injury, running back David Montgomery has been sidelined, meaning Jaymyr Gibbs has been handling most of the workload. Montgomery is reportedly doing well and is expected to play against the Chargers in week 10 of the NFL.
Lions of Detroit David Montgomery Is Expecting To Reappear
Montgomery participated fully in practice for the second day in a row. This suggests that, barring a last-minute adjustment to his injury, he will probably make a comeback. This is significant for the Lions. Although Gibbs has performed admirably in his absence, defenses find it difficult to stop Gibbs and Montgomery’s one-two punch. Each can allow the offense to adjust to the circumstances and has a distinct running style. The Chargers front isn’t known for being particularly strong against the run, so the Lions are hoping Montgomery can succeed against them.
The team is clearly in control of the NFC North and has looked good thus far. The Vikings have been a fascinating tale, but I think they will decline. Josh Dobbs can only carry a team so far, in my opinion. How far the Lions can go once the playoffs begin is the main question. With the Eagles the lone dominant team, the NFC appears to be wide open. With all of the Cowboys’ and 49ers’ serious shortcomings, a mediocre team will probably sneak in as the seventh seed. The team could surprise a few people if they can get hot at the right moment.
For the Detroit Lions, having David Montgomery back is crucial. With their starting running back, the Lions have maintained their NFC East lead throughout the NFL season. It’s all about managing while important players are sidelined.
