Knicks: Josh Hart’s depressing analysis of his persistent knee injury

Josh Hart, a guard/forward for the New York Knicks, is getting increasingly frustrated with his nagging knee injury.

The 2023–24 NBA season is almost halfway through, and Josh Hart and the New York Knicks have had a comparatively good start. With a solid 24-17 record and a spot in fifth place in the crowded Eastern Conference playoff picture, Hart has continued to be a reliable scorer off the New York bench during his first full season with the Knicks.

However, things haven’t been going as well for Hart lately. According to the NBA’s official injury report, he has been dealing with patellar tendinopathy in his left knee and is currently officially listed as questionable to play against the Washington Wizards.

Hart recently talked about his lingering injury and how frustrating it is to try to take care of himself and still be a consistent shooter.

Hart reportedly said, “I think I know how to manage it pretty well,” according to Ian Begley of SNY on X, the website that was once known as Twitter. Trying to strike a balance between getting enough sleep, getting up for extra shots, and doing extra work can be frustrating at times. Feeling out of rhythm is the last thing you want to experience. However, you don’t want to overwork your body. That is a never-ending struggle. However, I believe I have a decent sense of how to handle it throughout the season.

Even with the recent trade that resulted in the acquisition of OG Anunoby by the Knicks from the Toronto Raptors, Hart has continued to have a positive impact off the bench.
