After what he did last week, Ty Bracey gives his assessment on Cameron Archer’s departure from Aston Villa.

We are excited to have Aston Villa podcaster Ty Bracey join us as our exclusive columnist. Every week, he will share his thoughts on the club’s most talked-about topics.

Despite what he did last week, Ty Bracey believes that Aston Villa made the right business decision in selling Cameron Archer to Sheffield United.

The 21-year-old forward, who cost £18 million to sign with the Blades over the summer, beat Wolves 2-1 on November 4 thanks to an incredible goal outside the box.

With two Premier League goals this season, the academy product could still have a future at Villa Park if he performs well in South Yorkshire. Villa included a buy-back clause in the deal for the England under-21 international.

Bracey has complete faith in the choices being made by the club’s recruitment team and thinks the deal at the time benefited both the Villans and Archer.

Bracey said exclusively to Villa News, “What a goal it was.” Personally, I believe that FFP had a big influence on the choice. They received a respectable price for him along with a buy-back guarantee; it was a fantastic deal.

“However, he clearly desires playing time with the first team, and he excelled while on loan. I can kind of see how it was very beneficial to both of them. Once more, this is one of those situations where, at the time, the business decision was the right one.

He put in an incredible goal, but in the end, if he returns, he returns, and if not, I wish him the best of luck. However, I support Unai Emery and the hiring process because I believe it’s a very effective one.

“Johan Lange has obviously joined Tottenham, but I have no concerns about the recruitment team—I think they’re doing a fantastic job.” I support them no matter what choice they make.

In other Aston Villa news, a broadcaster thinks the team has released a “statement of intent” following the revelation of an Emery development.
