According to Ryan Lowe, Ched Evans and Emil Riis are nearing a return to first-team action and might be back after the latest round of international contests.
Riis has been absent since January after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, while Evans had surgery in April for a “serious medical condition.”
Both have been out since, but have returned to light training, and their prospective comeback would be a great boost. Unfortunately, the games against Leicester City and Ipswich Town come too quickly.
Calvin Ramsay, a Liverpool loanee, is approaching a return to health following a setback to a knee ailment he’s been suffering with since preseason. He has yet to play for the Lilywhites in a competitive match and has returned to his original club for recuperation.

Tom Cannon will miss the game against his former club on Wednesday due to an injury. Last year, the 20-year-old attacker had a good loan spell at PNE, scoring eight goals in 20 appearances.
Preston attempted to sign him back, but Everton chose to transfer him to Leicester for a rumoured £7.5 million. He has yet to make his debut. Cannon has a stress fracture in his back, which Leicester admits they knew about before signing him. He has resumed training and is attempting to recover from his injuries.
Dennis Praet, a Belgian attacker, has a stress fracture in his back and could be out for four weeks, according to Maresca’s latest injury update.
Callum Doyle had surgery to repair a knee problem. He was pulled out at halftime against Bristol City last month, and he departed the game on crutches with his knee in a brace.
