Injury Expert delivers Rabbi Matondo’s surgery claim to the Rangers.

Dr. Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has joined us as an exclusive columnist. He’ll be sharing his thoughts on the Rangers’ injury situation every week…

Rangers attacker Rabbi Matondo may need knee surgery in the worst-case situation, but Dr Rajpal Brar believes that is improbable.

The injury expert feels Gers are correct in their schedule for the Welshman’s return, assuming all goes as planned.

However, if there are any relapse, he could be out for up to three months and may need surgery.

Brar, a doctor of physical therapy and a sports scientist, told Ibrox News exclusively about his situation:

“According to manager Beale, Matondo took a blow to the outside of the knee and it may have been a bad one; an injury to the medial collateral ligament immediately comes to mind.”

“When the knee is struck from the outside, it can drive it inwards, stressing the ligament.”

“If that’s the case, the worst-case scenario would be a grade 3 rupture, which, while uncommon, does come with the possibility of surgery.”

“That would be a three-month or longer turnaround time.”

“However, as things stand and without any setback, it will just be around six weeks.”

Matondo was injured in Ibrox’s 1-0 win against Motherwell on Sunday, September 24.

First-team coach Neil Banfield has stated that the wide attacker will be out for a month and a half.

This season, the 23-year-old has played more minutes than expected, with five league matches and one in the Europa League.

In other Rangers news, Alan Shearer has made a claim about the club’s Europa League campaign in light of what Gary Lineker just remarked.
