The Fall Stars Game results for each player

Sloan Park hosted the 17th edition of the Arizona Fall League Fall Stars Game on Sunday night. Top White Sox prospect Colson Montgomery, who is ranked No. 17 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 rankings, was among the players who displayed their skills. He was named the game’s Most Valuable Player as the AL defeated the NL, 6-3.

What each player did was as follows:

Jays in blue
With a two-run home run that scored the game’s winning run, Will Robertson showed off his strength. At an estimated 400 feet per second, the dinger left the barrel at 100 mph. The American League’s CJ Van Eyk got the game underway. The right-hander struck out Oliver Dunn, Wes Clarke, and Gabriel Rincones Jr. swinging after giving up a leadoff single. In his only at-bat, Dasan Brown (TOR No. 29) grounded out, and Damiano Palmegiani (TOR No. 18) also did so. Despite not pitching, lefty Ricky Tiedemann (TOR No. 1) was chosen for the Fall Stars Game.

In his lone at-bat, Dominic Keegan (TB No. 9) struck out after three innings behind the plate. Pitching one inning, Logan Workman gave up one run while striking out two. In his two at-bats, Carson Williams (TB No. 2) struck out.

The Red Sox
Zack Penrod threw one strikeout in his second inning of work. He gave up just one hit, a double to Sox prospect Colson Montgomery, but was out as he attempted to stretch it into a triple. After Ryan Bliss singled in the third inning, Corey Rosier used his quickness to advance from first base to third base.

Yankees
After entering the seventh inning, Trey McGough gave up a single and then quickly finished the inning with two strikeouts. Despite being chosen for the Fall Stars Game, Carter Baumler (BAL No. 22) did not participate.

Caleb Durbin pinch hit and played second base as he came into the fourth inning. In his three at-bats, he was hitless.

Kyle Manzardo (CLE No. 2) displayed his strength with a 433-foot home run one day after he hammered 15 dingers in the AFL Home Run Derby. After going 1 for 3 in the game, the first baseman added another RBI on a sacrifice fly. After reaching on a walk, Chase DeLauter (CLE No. 4) went 0-for-2 with a strikeout.

Kings
In his two at-bats, Peyton Wilson (KC No. 26), who entered the game as a defensive replacement, failed to reach base.

In his lone at-bat, Tigers Jake Jung (DET No. 4) struck out swinging after entering as a defensive replacement at third base. This fall, Jung is slashing.244/.446/.366 after walking 14 times. Despite being chosen for the Fall Stars Game, pitchers Wilmer Flores (DET No. 7) and Jackson Jobe (DET No. 3) did not participate.

In his lone at-bat, Twins Kala’i Rosario—the 2023 AFL Home Run Derby winner—struck out. With six home runs, the No. 19 Twins prospect is tied for the league lead with teammate Aaron Sabato.

Pale Sox
In the fourth inning, Colson Montgomery (CWS No. 1) launched a 409-foot home run to set the tone. The Fall Stars Game MVP went to MLB No. 17, the top-ranked prospect in the Fall League, who went 2-for-2. In the eighth inning, Jordan Leasure relieved and struck out Sterlin Thompson and Ivan Melendez. In the AL’s victory, Jake Eder (CWS No. 5) struck out two.

Michael Davis Daniel was chosen to play in the Fall Stars Game for the Angels, but the right-hander did not show up.

A.J. Blubaugh of the Astros recorded a routine groundout to short to record the AL’s last out of the game.

Activities
In the eighth, Max Muncy (OAK No. 7) lined out in foul territory to take over as designated hitter. Although he was chosen to represent the A’s, righty Royber Salinas (OAK No. 24) did not take the mound.

Mariners Ryan Bliss found himself in the leadoff spot in the starting lineup, and he certainly took advantage of the chance. Seattle’s No. 14 prospect went one for two in four innings, scoring a run in the third on a line drive single. In the ninth inning, righty Troy Taylor faced three batters and got two outs, including a strikeout. Starting at DH, Tyler Locklear (SEA No. 11) went 0-for-3 in his first at-bat for the AL.

The Rangers
In the Fall Stars Game, Liam Hicks saw action at the plate twice and walked both times. In the fourth inning, the backstop scored a run thanks to his persistence in the batter’s box. After entering in the third, Anthony Hoopii-Tuionetoa pitched a perfect inning, striking out two batters. In the sixth inning, Emiliano Teodo (TEX No. 22) took the mound and gave up a run on a wild pitch.

Daring
In the sixth inning, Keshawn Ogans took over at second base. He was hit by pitch and later scored on a wild pitch. A caught stealing promptly erased his single in the eighth.

After taking over in the sixth inning, Marlins Nasim Nuñez (MIA No. 17) batted 1-for-2 with a single and a walk. In order to end the game, the shortstop also led a double play in the ninth. Starting for the NL in the seven-hole, Jacob Berry (MIA No. 4) struck out twice. To close, Ike Buxton came out of the bullpen and got two outs on the two batters he faced.

Mets:
First baseman JT Schwartz displayed his defensive prowess by going full extension to catch a ball in foul territory. During the last three innings of the game, Kevin Parada (NYM No. 5) caught for the National League. The No. 5 prospect for the Mets was 0 for 1 with a walk.

Philly
Despite not being able to reach base safely, Gabriel Rincones Jr. (PHI No. 9) batted in a run on an infield chopper to first. In the eighth and ninth innings, Andrew Baker got two outs. He gave up just one hit and one strikeout. Oliver Dunn failed to reach base in both of his at-bats. Though he was picked to play for Philadelphia in the Fall Stars Game, Christian McGowan (PHI No. 13) did not show up.

In his scoreless second inning, Nationals DJ Herz (WSH No. 16) faced five batters and gave up just one hit.

breweries
Wes Clarke and Eric Brown Jr. (MIL No.10) both started in the Fall Stars Game starting lineup and each received two at-bats during the game. With a solo home run that landed on the berm in left field in the top of the fifth inning, Brown exhibited his skill on both sides of the diamond. In the bottom of the inning, he made a spinning throw from behind second base to shortstop, flashing his leather. Clarke went 0-for-2 with a strikeout, showing less success at the plate.

The Cardinals
Victor Scott II is an expert at stealing bags—one of the few prospects with 80-grade speed—and he made no secret of it. The No. 4 Cardinals prospect started the game for the National League by swiping third base and going the other way for a double to left field. Scott went two walks and two steals in his next two at-bats to finish one for one with three steals. Starting for the NL, Tekoah Roby (STL No. 5) produced a strong first inning, striking out two and allowing no runners to reach base. After entering in the eighth, Cooper Hjerpe (STL No. 7) struck out one in two thirds of an inning of work.

Bears
In the sixth inning, James Triantos (CHC No. 9) and Kevin Alcántara (CHC No. 4) were substituted into the game. Despite having excellent Fall League seasons overall (Triantos leads the league with a 1.205 OPS), neither player recorded a hit in their first two at-bats.

piratical
The only Pittsburgh player participating in the Fall Stars Game was Jase Bowen. After hitting 18 jacks in last night’s Home Run Derby, the Pirates’ No. 27 prospect went one for two in the seventh and added a double.

crimson
For the NL, Michael Trautwein began at first base, but what really stood out was his offensive prowess. The first run of the game was eventually scored by the backstop, who doubled in the third and then stole third base. In his second at-bat, Trautwein went 1-for-2 and fanned. Andrew Moore, a right-hander, pitched a perfect 1-2-3 eighth inning while striking out two batters.

D-backs of the National League West
Arizona only had one player selected to the Fall Stars roster: Ivan Melendez. In the sixth inning, the No. 8 D-backs prospect pinch-hit and continued to play third base for the remainder of the game. Melendez was hit by a pitch and struck out in his two at-bats.

The Dodgers
For the NL, Ronan Kopp (LAD No. 16) and Kendall Williams each pitched two consecutive innings of relief. After giving up three runs on two hits, both long balls, in the fourth inning, left-hander Kopp settled in and struck out two of the last three batters he faced. Right-handed pitcher Williams gave up a solo home run to Kyle Manzardo to start the sixth inning. He retired the next three batters in order after the jack, striking out Carson Williams to record the frame’s last out.

Massive
The only Giant selected for the Fall Stars Game but not playing was Carter Howell, who has a.962 OPS in the fall.

Parents
Jakob Marsee earned a start in left field for the Fall Stars Game and is arguably the best performer of the fall thus far. In the second inning, the No. 12 Padres prospect doubled off the left-field wall to go 1-for-2. But in an attempt to turn the knock into a triple, he was thrown out. In his third inning of work, Braden Nett gave up two runs on two hits and struck out one.

The Rockies
Starting for the NL at DH, Benny Montgomery (COL No. 8) went 0-for-2. After pinch-hitting and walking in the sixth inning, Sterlin Thompson (COL No. 6) struck out in his second at-bat of the evening. With two strikeouts in a hitless seventh inning, Juan Mejia had the best game out of the three.
