Cronulla Sharks thrash Cowboys in a “training gallop,” a “very disappointing” outcome.

The Cronulla Sharks defeated the Cowboys 42–6 at Shark Park, securing their place atop the NRL standings.

The Sharks went on a six-try blitz led by a double to Braydon Trindall, while the Cowboys were further hurt by a double to Ronaldo Mulitalo in the second half.

Due to their inability to contain the Sharks, the Cowboys finished outside of the top four in the league after losing by a score of 36 points.

Cowboys captain Tom Dearden expressed his dissatisfaction with the significant defeat in a post-game speech.

He said to Nine’s coverage, “It’s very disappointing to get beaten like that down here; we wanted to come down here with a good attitude and we weren’t good.”

“Tonight, it involved a blend of all areas.”

Cronulla’s Will Kennedy scored the first goal after Scott Drinkwater threw the ball backward in search of a teammate.

Kennedy picked up the ball and dashed toward the tryline, leaving Drinkwater, who was under pressure and believing he had support, behind.

Through Thomas Hazelton, who broke the line and sidestepped multiple Cowboys defenders, the Sharks went on the offensive.

Winger Samuel Stonestreet scored his first try in his NRL debut after crossing over unopposed.
